1. Japanese calligraphy 書道
You will learn various brush techniques, calligraphy styles - Kaisho (block) style, Gyosho (semi-cursive) style, Sosho (cursive) style, Kana (poem) style - stroke order and balance of Japanese characters as well as the history of calligraphy and the meaning of Japanese characters so you don't need to know any Japanese to begin.
このレッスンでは自分の大切にしている言葉を自分が楽しめる書体（楷書、行書、草書、かな）で挑戦して頂きたいです。漢字の成り立ちや歴史も一緒に理解しながらその言葉を自分らしく自分と向き合いながら筆と墨を持って形にする喜びを一緒に経験しましょう。
2. Sumi-e Japanese ink painting 墨絵
You will learn to understand and capture the meaning of the objects you are painting with your interpretation then you will express them variously with brush pressure, rhythm and tones and confidence in your strokes as simple as possible. You'll not only learn brush stroke techniques but also experience the whole process to understand yourself through your work.
墨絵で描く対象となるものの持つ象徴的な意味を自分なりに理解しそれを感じ取り、できるだけシンプルに筆の圧力、リズム、トーンを工夫して表現します。このレッスンでは墨絵の技術的なものだけではなくその制作過程における自分と向き合う空間も楽しみながら学んで頂きたいです。
